Scott Aronson
Sr. Solar Energy Advisor & Managing Director/CEO/Co-founder
Education: University of California, Berkeley – Bachelor of Science, Business Administration
Professional Experience: Worked as Field Energy Consultant and Energy Advisor in residential solar for the past 6 years, representing SolarCity, Tesla, and SunPower. Spent nearly 20-years working to protect consumers at the Better Business Bureau, serving executively as Vice President.
Hometown/Connection to the Community: Chatsworth, CA. Scott was born & raised in Southern California and spent most of his life in the Los Angeles area. He lived also in the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly a decade and currently resides in Las Vegas, NV, with his wife, Talin (SunRev’s CFO & Co-founder), mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and house full of rescue animals.
Personal Interests: Cinema, spending time with his family and their 11 ‘fur babies’ at home, church activities, and homeless outreach. Played college and professional football (L.A. Rams Training Camp, XFL signee) as a free-agent punter.
Why Solar/SunPower (in Scott’s words): Having worked for several major solar operators, I learned the solar industry landscape, which can be very confusing to consumers. Career uncertainty fueled by upheaval in Tesla’s energy division prompted me to re-evaluate my solar career by identifying the solar company that matched best with my ethical framework ingrained across many years at the Better Business Bureau and offered the best possible solar equipment, service, and warranty. For me, all roads led to SunPower, and I can’t imagine representing any other brand.
Stan Gakman
Sr. Solar Energy Advisor
Education: Temple University – Bachelor of Arts, Business Management
Professional Experience: Spent the last 6 years in the solar industry, representing Solar City, Tesla, Sunrun, and SunPower. He is also an entrepreneur, having owned and operated businesses over the years.
Hometown/Connection to Community: So Cal Resident for 8 years. Stan hails originally from Odessa, Ukraine, and emigrated to the U.S. as a young man, where he lived in Philadelphia, PA, and New York, NY. He currently resides in the north Los Angeles suburb of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Personal Interests: Golf, tennis, general sports enthusiast, ancient history buff, world travel.
Why Solar/SunPower (in Stan’s words): “I love helping my customers save money and improve their standards of living, while also helping the environment in the process! Solar is very challenging, technologically, and I thrive on solving complex solar issues. There’s no better feeling than seeing my customers so happy after their solar systems are installed and they are simultaneously making their own, clean energy, and saving their hard-earned money.”
Tom Base
Solar Energy Advisor
Education: United States Naval Academy – Bachelor of Science, General Engineering. RSM Erasmus University – Master of Business Administration
Professional Experience: Combat Veteran, U.S. Armed Forces. Served honorably as a Captain in the United States Marine Corp. Worked in Investment Banking and served for 6 years as Managing Director for Boomtown Accelerators, a medical start-up incubator. Began his career as a Siemens Project Engineer. Tom is new to the solar industry.
Hometown/Connection to Community: Moraga, CA / Carlsbad, CA. A native Californian and CA resident for 30+ years. Tom resides in Oceanside, CA, with his adorable little dog, Lily.
Personal Interests: Racing his Tesla Model 3 at the Track, International Travel; Veterans’ causes, philanthropy.
Why Solar/SunPower (in Tom’s words): “I find the financial side of solar to be a challenge, as I’m always mindful of finding the optimal solution for each customer. I thrive on providing a sustainable energy solution for customers, and as a self-professed tech “geek,” I enjoy the technological intricacies of solar energy. Above all, I chose to represent SunPower because of the high confidence at a great outcome for customers relative to the competition.”
Hector Mariscal
Sr. Solar Energy Advisor
Education: Cal State University, Northridge – Bachelor of Arts, Education
Professional Experience: Started his solar career 7 years ago. Represented SolarCity, Tesla, and Sunrun, before joining SunRev to promote SunPower products.
Hometown/Connection to Community: Northridge, CA. Born & raised in Southern, CA, Hector makes his home in the North Los Angeles area of the San Fernando Valley.
Personal Interests: Avid outdoorsman, including hiking and beach excursions, listening to audiobooks, and watching sports. Hector played college football as an offensive lineman.
Why Solar/SunPower: “I can’t imagine doing anything more gratifying than saving customers their hard-earned money, preserving our precious environment, providing enhanced energy security for the community—all at the same time. And I chose SunPower because they have stood the test of time, and are hands-down, the best major solar company on the planet.”
Rob Miller
Solar Energy Advisor
Education: Boise State University & San Jose State University – Bachelor of Arts, Communications. Northcentral University – Master of Science, Psychology
Professional Experience: Spent 15 years in sales & management at Novartis Pharmaceuticals; prior, owned and operated 2 Subway Franchises for 8 years.
Hometown/Connection to Community: Lived around the world (Germany, Belgium & Korea) as a military brat from childhood thru adolescence. Relocated to Northern California (Novato, CA) in 1985. Rob currently resides in Biloxi, Mississippi, with his wife, Lisa, and their two dogs. His three children & one stepchild are grown.
Personal Interests: Spending time with his dogs and wife in nature, fishing, and enjoying the ocean. Played college & professional football (San Francisco 49-ers and L.A. Raiders Training Camps).
Why Solar/SunPower (in Rob’s words): “I was drawn to the solar “revolution” primarily because I believe in consumer choice. Coupled with the environmental implications, solar offers consumers an affordable alternative to the monopolistic utilities with their ever-increasing energy costs.”
Kerry Fries
Sr. Solar Energy Advisor
Education: The Art Institute of Santa Monica – Bachelor of Science, Video, Film, & Television Cinematography
Professional Experience: 12+ years industry experience: Entered solar industry in 2010. Worked at SolarCity as a Field Energy Consultant, and Tesla, where he was a Regional Sales Manager. Has been an Energy Advisor representing SunPower for more than 4 years.
Hometown/Connection to the Community: Moorpark, CA (Ventura County). Kerry resides in Oak Park, CA (near Thousand Oaks, CA) with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
Personal Interests: Golf, spending time with family, travel, general sports enthusiast, animal lover.
Why Solar/SunPower (in Kerry’s words): “I’m a huge advocate of renewable energy. As an owner of two Teslas, I have dedicated more than a decade of my career toward guiding everyday consumers in their switch from grid-power to green, renewable solar energy. The fact that solar energy provides significant savings to my customers is icing on the cake!”
Talin Aronson
CFO & Co-founder
Education: California State University, Northridge – Bachelor of Arts, Journalism
Professional Experience: Worked for more than 33 years in the accounting profession, mostly as an independent bookkeeper and corporate accountant. Co-Founded SunRev in 2020, where she has served as Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer ever since.
Hometown/Connection to Community: Hollywood, CA
Raised since early childhood in Southern California, including Simi Valley & Huntington Beach, CA. Talin now lives in Las Vegas, NV with her husband and SunRev co-founder, Scott, along with her mother and younger brother, and a house full of their beloved pets.
Personal Interests: Authored two inspirational Christian books, rescuing and caring for animals, spending time with her family and close friends, world travel, church activities.
Joel Stagis
Sr. Solar Energy Advisor
Education: University of California, Santa Barbara – B.A. in Global Studies
Professional Experience: Worked for 10+ years in corporate software sales before he was recruited by fellow BBB colleague to enter the solar industry and has represented SunPower for the past 2+ years.
Hometown/Connection to the Community: Fresno, CA. Joel was born and raised in the Fresno area of the San Joaquin Valley in Central California. He now lives in Bend, Oregon with his wife, three young boys, and their dog.
Personal Interests: Mountain biking, spending time with his wife & kids, Ice Hockey
